2nd car key won't work central locking?

Car is a Renault Laguna Estate S reg.


1st key works fine for the central locking. 2nd key doesn't. Was never used, and has never had a battery in it.


How can I get it to work, without spending much or nothing?|||Hello





If you mean as a remote?





Insert new battery and close


Sit in car close doors and put key in ignition.


Turn ignition On (Not start)


You have Max 10 Secs to press and release Lock or Unlock button.


Door locks should cycle to show key is now matched to the car remote system.





If you mean as a Physical key then take to a Key cutter, Most big supermarkets have them these days and ask them to check it.


Or get out a fine file or Emery Paper (Wet and Dry) and try taking off any high points.





Andy C|||i think you have a key that needs a little filing ,take it to a locksmith ,and he will see if there is any small differences between the keys|||It Could be like a lot of car manufacturers today the key memory needs re programming via the deal;ers computer and the manufacturers computers|||Fit a new battery and try the key again .
