Golf mk4 remote central locking doesn't work?

I have tried changing the battery and re syncing the key fob as it states in the handbook for my car.


Central locking works fine from the key and from the button inside the car.


Any help will be much appreciated.


Thanks :)|||Same thing is happening with my key fob for my MKIV Jetta (Bora). I think the key fobs get damaged over time when you keep them in your pockets and coming into contact with your other keys (thus, the buttons are always being depressed).
