How much will it cost me to install remote central locking?

my car has central locking already but l want to upgrade to a remote central locking.the car is a vw polo|||Does the car have an alarm? If it does, most alarm / car audio shops will be able to cut into the system and add the use of a remote aftermarket fob. If it doesn't have an alarm, it may be wise to have one fitted that'll incorporate the use of the central locking. (Not expensive to do).|||It varies by vehicle, and whether or not you are already equipped to have a remote. If you are it would just be buying and programming the remote. If not the cost would increase dramatically. If it's a newer model, it probably just means buying the remote. Ask at the dealer.|||Most places will say to fit a new remote control sysytem, wiring and alarm in one - should cost around 拢200 for a half decent setup.|||If you have a factory alarm fitted there should be provision for a dealer upgrade to fit the RCL unit.

If it's an after market alarm (someone else installed it) then some of these have provision for an RCL unit as well.

When you alarm the car with a key fob, it locks the doors as well.

I bought an alarm for 拢50 and a RCL unit for 拢25 and fitted it to my second car. It was fairly straightforward. The plans were clear. I also picked up a central locking system for 拢20, all from Maplin, albeit many years ago. It all worked like a charm.
