How much is it to get remote central locking fitted to a car already with central locking?

Any rough idea would be appreciated, and also what type of garages do it? because i have asked around and none around here seem to do it.|||I presume that this is tied into an alarm system, if so then check the relevant web site for the alarm company they will provide a list of approved fitters

U should directly ring the car manufacturer. The cost will inclued the modifying the elctrical system in your car. And the coding of the emboliser or imbolisers. I have a nissan micra; and just to but a replacement imboliser cost 拢105.





Good Luck|||if the Central locking is not already remote you could get it by fitting an alarm that works on remote central locking( provided you don't already have an alarm fitted). cost wise, i would just go for a cheapish alarm if all you want is a remote fob.

the key will not open the doors or the boot. I think it's a problem with the central locking. would really appreciate some advice|||The key should still operate the passenger door lock manually.Also try the spare key, in case the normal one is damaged in some way?Don't think the central locking is stopping you from getting the car open?Hope this helps|||try changing the battery in the blipper ?

Only ask as I had a pupil who called with the same problem ... they were using their mom's plipper instead of theirs' (same car different Reg)

If there's no led lighting up on your key fob it's more than likely to be a flat battery in the fob. These are just a button battery and easy/cheap to replace. The other way to get in (and works!) is to slice a tennis ball in half, pop it over the lock barrel and "bop" it and this should over-ride the c/l n open your door. Other than that, a FBH (F**kin Big Hammer) or a P.T.I (a Precision Tuning Instrument "smaller hammer") to a side window is the other form of "universal" key. This would then mean a visit to a scrappy to replace said smashed window.|||the key even without a battery should open the drivers door,however if the car is a few years old and no one has ever used the key before the lock may be in a "seized"up state,,,get an aerosol of WD40,,,,this has a thin red pipe you push into the nozzle of the aersol can,push the pipe into the keyhole and give it a good squirt,,leave a few mins and try the key again,


it should unlock the door but may not start the car as the keys for most cars are "coded"and a flat battery in the remote may stop the car starting,,,local dealer will replace batteries

how come if you hold the remote to your ear the distance you can lock your car from is doubled?|||the answer is simple at any time that you do this weather its to your ear or your mouth it works better for the reson being that you act as antenna because your naturaly grounded therfore amplifing the remote creating an antenna like, instead of holding it out in front of you where it is resonable less reaction
