beeping".|||Are you jealous?|||because we can haha lol|||Saves time/ improves your safety margin/ allows for a broader angle of view into the car interior, for a last check/allows for a wider scan of the surroundings as your closing the car/ if you are a cop chasing a bandit, it gives you a flying start as you lock the car/ if you have lost your car in a car park it can give you some idea of where it is parked by flashing the lights/ should you be chased by a T Rex, it gives you that spare second or two to get in the car and then 'burn rubber!'|||if its at night could be done for safety, the lights come on and you can see in and around the car|||Probably not. If they were "showing off" they would probably be making a very flamboyant gesture with the radio "key" so that everyone around would know who it was.
Sometimes it can help to locate the car in a large car park, and as I often hire a car, I find this feature very helpful, as all I know about the car I am looking for is its colour and reg.number. (Yes, I do know the key label shows the make of the car, but most cars of a similar size look the same to me!).
Often, when you are walking to the car with someone else, you do need to unlock from about 10 metres so you don't stop your friend, who may be in front of yourself, from being prevented opening the door. Obviously circumstances vary, but I think it is only a practical issue.
Occasionally, I have the car parked in the road some 50 metres from my cabin, and as I like to check that is locked before I go to bed, I do quite often check it is locked from a distance, as it saves me having to walk the distance, possibly in heavy rain. I am sure that anyone else would want to do the same!|||It's a guy thing. We boast about stuff like that when we're in the pub. 'mine works from 40 feet away, therefore I have a bigger d*ck than you'
Sad but true!|||they are that blind they cant see there car|||That is an old option and quite a few cars have them now. I try and open mine from a distance just to check my battery in the remote. Once it starts only opening the locks when I'm right up on it, then I know it is time to change the battery.
I also have an alarm system with remote start on mine. If the alarm goes off, it will chirp the key fob and let me know, then if I feel like target practice then I know where to find a target.

That way if the boys take off and go running up to the vehicle I know how soon I can have it unlocked for them so they can get in and buckled up.|||The flashing lights show them where they parked their Euro-box because they all look the same.

Does anybody know if there is a fuse in my car for the central locking? I need to remove it to break circuit.?
Every time i lock the car via my door it kicks it back out again, sometimes back and fourth back and fourth again then stops.
I cannot lock the car i need to disable the electrics so i can lock it manually.
I have looked in the normal fuse box and the engine and in the control panel under the passenger seat.
Please is there a way i can lock the doors manually?

or could there possibly be something stuck / jammed in the locking bit.
if the door has been slammed hard the fastening may have been moved (the bar that pushes the lock shut when moved by the motor)
i had this when fitting a replacement motor, adjusted too much there is not enough movement or even too much, the lock doesnt quite lock and the motor thinks it being opened again.|||You must take the car to the mechanic, playing around with the fuse box might lead to malfunction of the car.|||The fuse you are looking for usually is in the places you have looked,

It's difficult to give you a direct answer as regards fuses etc. without knowing what model and year of car you have, but as a mechanic with 35yrs experience the fault you have sounds very much like a faulty door lock solenoid. Again without knowing the car details it is difficult to advise you further of the repair costs incurred, but I would say an average price for a new solenoid is less than 拢50.00 plus of course about one to two hours labour. I hope this helps.|||Fords are renound for having central locking problems and yes there is a fuse.

Try looking for a picture of a key and remove this fuse but afterwards try all the other electrical items on the car to make sure that the fuse didnt power something else as well!|||the fuse on the fords normally does the central locking and factory fitted alarm, sometimes simply leaving the fuse out for 30 mins will sort your problem.
my escort used to do this every 12months or so.|||Sounds to me like the mechanism that goes from lock to central locking unit is poorly adjusted. Have your mechanic have a look, it might just be an adjustment, it might need a new central locking unit, but either way he/she should know which fuse to pull.
Can I also suggest locking from passenger side.

Can any car with central locking use a remote key fob to open it ?

ANYWAY I CHECK FOR INFO ON THE 1999 AND 2000 AND FOUND OUT THAT SOME OF THE REMOTES HAD BAD DIODES AND EVEN AFTER RESETTING AND OR REPROGRAMMING THE OLD REMOTES AFTER A BATTERY WENT DEAD THEY WOULD NOT WORK.
THE DIODE WOULD START LEAKING AND DRAIN DOWN THE BATTERY.
THERE WERE TWO REMOTES, THE ONE WITH THE WHITE WRITING WAS CONSIDERED POSSIBLY BAD AND THE ONE WITHOUT THE WHITE WRITING WAS THE GOOD ONE.
I HOPE THAT THIS HELPS YOU AND MAKE SURE AND CHECK THE YEAR, AGAIN I APOLOGIZE IF I AM THE ONE THAT MADE THE MISTAKE.|||You have corroded parts for the system of remote control, try to clean it with contact cleaner save you a penny.

How much is it to get remote central locking fitted to a car already with central locking?
Any rough idea would be appreciated, and also what type of garages do it? because i have asked around and none around here seem to do it.|||I presume that this is tied into an alarm system, if so then check the relevant web site for the alarm company they will provide a list of approved fitters

the key will not open the doors or the boot.
